I put up another post on Blogging Baby here.

I noticed on Newsgator they have this funky rating system that you can add to your own blog. Since the best use for this in Wordpress is as a plugin, I did just that.
A really simple plugin, this will put up the neat rating thingy after the time on each of your entries. Edit the plugin as you like to change the format of the output and/or where it gets displayed. In this case I put it after the time. The ratings for each post even show up in your edit.php list!
You can grab version 1.0.1 here (NOTE: Yes, I moved development to wp-plugins.org)
I figure I’ll update here when I have something new on BB, so here it is.
If anything else I write there is of interest to you, like repeated news and such, you’ll just visit the site often on your own anyway. Oh, and post comments on those posts there instead of here — it makes me look special.
Oh, and in case you’re new to the “blogging” world (and especially if you’re not), you can manage and read them much more efficiently by using your My Yahoo! page or any number of RSS readers. Personally I use Bloglines, which really is amazing. You can easily save entries aside in folders, post them to your own little blog (mine is here), and setup mail addresses where you can have mailing lists delivered and not have them plug up your inbox.
The RSS feeds you can subscribe to in the readers aren’t all personal blog crap like this site. If you keep up with more than a few websites on a regular basis, consider an RSS reader. Let me warn you though that if you’re not careful, it can be a serious time suck. Oh, and you can subscribe to this site on bloglines using this link.
So who holds the title for having the longest pregnancy on record? Apparently, it’s this woman (NSFW). Awww…isn’t he cute.
UPDATE (2004-01-25): OK, so yeah the above link is gross, but now I’m curious what the real answer is. I found information at sexualrecords.com, but it doesn’t pertain to human gestation. I sent them an email to see if they know. I’ll update here if/when I hear back.
UPDATE (2008-03-08): I keep getting hits for this post, apparently by people looking for the answer to this question. So, in searching once again on my own, I came up with this post. The answer is, apparently, 375 days! Holy moly. But, here’s the thing — that article is from 1945, well before normal ultrasounds (or any?). The doctor quoted could be quite wrong in saying it’s “impossible” that the woman possibly had a miscarriage, then got pregnant again in there somewhere (well, unless she didn’t have sex at all during that time). Also, the baby weighed less than seven pounds. I don’t buy it.
