So who holds the title for having the longest pregnancy on record? Apparently, it’s this woman (NSFW). Awww…isn’t he cute.

UPDATE (2004-01-25): OK, so yeah the above link is gross, but now I’m curious what the real answer is. I found information at sexualrecords.com, but it doesn’t pertain to human gestation. I sent them an email to see if they know. I’ll update here if/when I hear back.

UPDATE (2008-03-08): I keep getting hits for this post, apparently by people looking for the answer to this question. So, in searching once again on my own, I came up with this post. The answer is, apparently, 375 days! Holy moly. But, here’s the thing — that article is from 1945, well before normal ultrasounds (or any?). The doctor quoted could be quite wrong in saying it’s “impossible” that the woman possibly had a miscarriage, then got pregnant again in there somewhere (well, unless she didn’t have sex at all during that time). Also, the baby weighed less than seven pounds. I don’t buy it.

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)
